ACTS

Auckland Symphony Orchestra

www.aucklandsymphony.co.nz

The Auckland Symphony Orchestra is New Zealand’s largest community orchestra. Players are drawn from all walks of life, and from all parts of Auckland and beyond. The orchestra provides an opportunity for musicians who have chosen a career outside performance music, to enjoy weekly rehearsals of symphonic music, playing without payment and purely for the pleasure of making great music together.

The orchestra’s main philosophy is that music should be fun and enjoyed by players and audiences alike - hence the regular, free family concerts that are offered in Auckland with out-of-town concerts in areas where a live performance by a Symphony Orchestra is a rare event.

Today, the Auckland Symphony Orchestra, with over eighty players, has developed an excellent following and reputation for its high quality performances of popular classics, film and show music, often playing to capacity and turn-away audiences. In addition to their regular concerts, they have other events including the sell-out performances of Last Night of the Proms, the Christmas Celebrations with local church choirs, concerts for children, and our new outdoor concerts.

Jasper & Jane Hawkins

www.jasperandjanehawkins.com

Brother and sister duo, Jasper and Jane Hawkins will be performing from 6 – 6:45pm at Christmas by the Lake on Saturday, November 28, with a repertoire of acoustic songs.
The singer-songwriting pair captivate audiences wherever they go with their authenticity and beautiful harmonies, both of which are a hallmark of their work.

  • Christmas by the Lake will NOT go ahead at Level 2 or above.

  • Please scan the COVID QR code on arrival at the event.

  • If you are not able to scan the code, you can sign in at the Information Tent.

  • Our team will regularly clean throughout the event items that are touched by multiple people e.g. waste bins handles, toilet handles etc.

  • Hand Hygiene: frequently wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds, then dry them thoroughly. If you are unable to access soap and water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser containing at least 60% alcohol. • Avoiding touching your face: hard surfaces can be contaminated with infectious droplets. Hands can be contaminated after contact with these surfaces. If you need to touch your face, clean your hands first.

  • Physical distancing: Physical distancing is no longer required at Alert Level 1, as the risk of community transmission of COVID-19 is very low. You can still play it safe by continuing to keep a distance from people you do not know. Use your judgement.
